PLAY Project - A Blessing for Families

With April being Autism Awareness Month, we are highlighting PLAY Project (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters), one of the many offerings through DSC's Family Development program. PLAY Project is an intensive early intervention program for young children with autism. It also offers a practical and effective approach to helping families who have a young child with autism.

Take it from a parent, who shared this testimonial: "The PLAY project was such a blessing for our family as we learned to navigate our son’s new diagnosis of autism spectrum. Luckily, I knew to start at DSC for support, and was connected to Heather with PLAY Project. The PLAY Project helped to show us as parents how to best meet our son where he is at, and how to engage with him through play. We learned about strategies and techniques to use with him that helped us to connect. Our son would not be where he is at today without the PLAY project. Not only did the program help us connect better with our son, but it also helped us learn more about ourselves as parents. Thank you Heather [DSC Developmental Therapist/PLAY Project Consultant] and PLAY Project for the support you provided to us. It was invaluable."
