Back to the Prairibbean is an annual community fundraiser hosted by the Eastern Illinois Parrot Head Club in support of DSC. Inspired by the music, philanthropy, and laid-back spirit of Jimmy Buffett, this event brings the community together for an evening that mixes great entertainment with community impact.

Each year, folks gather to enjoy live music, local food, beverages, raffles, and a festive tropical atmosphere, all while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Time: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Location: Riggs Beer Company, Urbana

Admission: $10 entry fee

Gates open at 5:00 pm, with live music beginning at 5:30 pm.

Guests can enjoy an evening filled with live entertainment from The Boat Drunks, one of the Midwest’s most popular Jimmy Buffett tribute bands, known for creating a fun and energetic island atmosphere.

There will be a variety of local food vendors, Watson's Shack & Rail, La Paloma, Smith Burger Co., and The Main Scoop. In addition, there's always fun raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, and other opportunities to participate and give back.

Back to the Prairibbean is more than an evening of entertainment. It reflects a long-standing partnership between DSC and the Eastern Illinois Parrot Head Club, whose generosity has raised more than half a million dollars to support vital programs and services. Funds raised through this event help provide opportunities that promote independence, community engagement, and quality of life for individuals served by DSC.
