September is an extra special month, because with it comes DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION WEEK, which we celebrate this week, September 9th through the 13th! All week, we are celebrating and honoring our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), but that certainly isn't enough time to truly thank them for all they do each and every day.
DSPs assist people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in realizing their full potential. They truly embody our mission—DSC supports people in living a rich and meaningful life.
The work of DSPs is determined by the unique needs and preferences of the people they support, and they are held to high ethical and professional standards. In other words, we couldn't do what we do without our DSPs; they are the heart and soul of everything we do here at DSC!
