Early Intervention is a statewide program that provides supports and services for families to help their children under age 3 meet developmental milestones. The Early Intervention program empowers families to help their children and overcome challenges.

Since each child develops uniquely and at different paces, developmental screenings are offered. Screenings are a fun and comfortable way to learn how a child is developing and to address developmental questions parents and caregivers may have. Developmental screening of children can be conducted virtually, in-home, at daycare, or at DSC. Our in-house Developmental Screener screens children using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ). The ASQ can provide a quick snapshot of a child’s overall behavior and development. This will assist with identifying children who may need further evaluation and/or determine the existence of a delay or disability as well as eligibility of services for the child. Finally, the ASQ identifies a child’s strengths and needs across all areas of development, which can be useful information for the child’s caretakers. DSC’s Developmental Screener can assist the family with linkage and referral to appropriate services.
