Last week, DSC's Employment Plus group hung out at the University of Illinois Union for an evening of fun, fellowship, and some friendly bowling competition. Strikes and spears made us cheer. And we enjoyed welcoming in new DSC Employment Specialist, Zakiyyah Turner.
Employment Plus provides a safe and fun outlet for people who are engaged in community-based employment. It offers an environment where they can openly discuss the joys and challenges they encounter in their workplace, including but not limited to interactions with coworkers, navigating situations involving management, and even addressing transportation issues. Employment Plus has helped us create new and creative ways to fulfill our mission: DSC supports people in living a rich and meaningful life.
